A lifelong resident of Vero Beach, Angela King loves and appreciates this small-town community. Truly a local, Angela graduated from Vero Beach High School in 1991 as Valedictorian of her class and National Merit Scholar. Angela holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA. Here, she was strongly encouraged to think “outside the box”. Angela’s proudest achievements at Agnes Scott were graduating Summa Cum Laude, with Highest Honor, and being elected a Phi Beta Kappa Scholar.
Angela studied acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine at Florida College of Integrative Medicine in Orlando, FL. She completed a rigorous 3000 hour program consisting of 2100 classroom hours, 900 clinic hours, and over 300 patient treatments in the on-site teaching clinic. She also served a one year term as the Student Body President. Angela graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2006 with a Masters Degree in Oriental Medicine.
Angela has received extensive education beyond acupuncture school and believes learning is a lifetime endeavor. She has trained with the following masters in advanced styles of acupuncture: Dr. Richard Tan for Balance Method Acupuncture, Dr. Chen for I-Ching acupuncture, Susan Johnson for Master Tung acupuncture, and Martha Lucas for Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture. She also completed a one year post-grad course in Western Medicine for Acupuncture Physicians with Bruce Robinson, MD, esteemed general surgeon and author. Angela has completed advanced certifications in Acu-Point Injection Therapy and in the National Acupuncture Detox Association (NADA) protocol to treat addictions. She is also certified in Neuro-Emotional Technique (NET).
Angela’s interest in holistic medicine extends beyond acupuncture. She has formally studied Classical Homeopathy since 1997 with world-renowned physician scholars Jeremy Sherr, Andre Saine, MD, Vega Rosenberg, Alize Timmerman, MD, Paul Herscu, ND, Miranda Castro, Durr Elmore and others.
Angela also has a keen interest in functional medicine as it relates to the research and use of diet and nutritional supplements to combat dysfunction and disease. She attended the 5-day International Conference for Functional Medicine & Human Nutrition in Portland, Oregon, September, 2013 and learned from doctors and researchers who came from Europe, South America and Canada to share their knowledge. Through her continued studies, Angela makes sure to keep her patients current on information essential to healthy living.
Above all, the greatest joys of Angela’s life are her family; husband Randy and son Samuel, and exploring her spiritual path. This is where she finds her deepest sense of purpose which infuses her treatments. Angela has studied with spiritual teachers and positive thinkers Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay, Carolyn Myss, Gregg Braden, Bruce Lipton, Eckhart Tolle, Robert Holden and Deepak Chopra.
